Drew Houser, PE

Professional Engineer | Founder of Houser Forensics

About Me...

After graduating with a degree in Civil Engineering from Northern Arizona University, I wasn't ready to park it behind a desk just yet. I spent the next seven years working as a whitewater rafting guide in the Grand Canyon, where I developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors, problem-solving under pressure, and the importance of paying attention to the details that matter.

Eventually, an opportunity arose to become a rope-access bridge inspector - a role that allowed me to combine my love of the outdoors with my training in engineering. I jumped at the opportunity. During the next five years, I inspected bridges and evaluated numerous structural failures, experiences that introduced me to failure analysis and forensic engineering.

Over the following eight years, I honed my skills as a forensic engineer, performing hundreds of investigations and testifying on numerous occasions. Along the way, I developed a simple conviction: good forensic engineering is about conducting meticulous inspections, understanding the facts, following the evidence, and having the expertise and integrity to say what the evidence supports.

That philosophy is the foundation of Houser Forensics.
